Interns and apprentices

Oldenburger|Fritom distinguishes itself as a logistics knowledge organization where our colleagues make the difference. That is why we invest more than 3 percent of our total wage bill in training and development every year—but it does not stop there. We also invest heavily in our colleagues of tomorrow.

For instance, we collaborate closely with local educational institutions to regularly offer internships and apprenticeships. As part of this commitment, five students are currently gaining valuable knowledge and experience at Oldenburger|Fritom in Veendam.

BU Warehousing, VAS & E-Fulfillment
Maik, Luc, and Brian work in our BREEAM Outstanding warehouse in Veendam, where they are mentored by our Supervisor Warehouse, Richard Klein. Maik is studying to become a Logistics Team Leader, and Luc is training to be a Road Transport Driver. Brian is participating in a work-study program as part of his logistics training program.

BU Forwarding
Leon is interning within our Forwarding business unit. He is studying to be a Logistics Supervisor. Under the guidance of our Senior Forwarder, Cor Klontje, he is learning the ins and outs of international transportation.

Report & Control
Twan started his internship in our Report & Control department this month. He is in his fourth and final year of the Finance & Control program. During his studies, he focuses on data, financial challenges, and risk management. He is being mentored by our Business Support Manager, Jarno ten Caat.
